How to Defeat Mommy Stress

Hey  y’all.  If you’re a mama like me with a house full of kids then this blog post is for you. Do you ever feel stressed? Do You sit back at the end of a long day, put your feet up and wonder why do i feel so overwhelmed & drained?  I know there are days that I do. Sitting, Going over the to-do-list in your head of all the things you didn’t accomplish today and now having to add it to tomorrows list, with feeling guilty to trying to take some time for yourself . When you have a house full of kids .There is always something keeping us mammas on the go. After school soccer games, activities, Homework, projects, the endless piles of laundry you didn’t get to finish , meal prepping for the week, to so much more. The list never ends.

I love being a stay at home mama raising my 3 babies,  with my oldest who just turned 14 years old. I am still getting used to the thought of being a mom of a teenager with even a more demanding schedule. Yet sometimes you just want to take a little break and do something your yourself, because your still a person too. A women,  wife,  friend, desiring for that lunch date with your best friend your always to busy to meet, or just the thought of taking a nap with not feeling guilty for taking a little break from our duties of our busy day. OH, lets not forget that much needed date night with your husband.

As a mama it is so easy to let our emotions get the best of us . That is why it is so important for us mammas to start each day with prayer. We have to pray and ask God to fill us with his strength, provision, love, and self control. For God to be our daily portion each day. To be the best version of ourselves, women of God, friend, mother to our children and wife to our husbands. I want to be the best mom who God intends for me to be. To use the gifts and talents he has blessed me with. I want to share a book with you called “The Bathtub is Overflowing but I feel drained.”How to defeat mommy stress, by Lysa Terkeurst

This book was given to me by a dear friend of mine.  The moment I opened this book and read the first page I couldn’t put it down. It is one of my favorites! Lysa Terkeurst truly knows all about the “mommy stress” that comes along with being a mom of 5 children ,wife, managing a home & life. Lysa is the president of Proverbs 31 Ministries. Her remarkable life story has captured audiences across North America. She has been featured in Family Circle, and O, the Oprah magazine. In this book Lysa talks about how being a mother can be ,and is the greatest joy & blessing in our life. How us moms need to stop comparing each other to Super Mom vs. Slacker Mom. How important it is to give yourself permission to get refreshed & refill. Give ourselves permission to stop being a mom for a while and just be a women, a wife , a friend.  If we as moms  don’t take care of ourselves, then we will constantly feel drained and start to become secretly resentful to our family.  How us  mammas need boundaries, how the demands as mammas is never-ending, but yet so very fulfilling.

Lysa is such a refreshing, honest, and God filled women. In her book she will help you understand that your failures, struggles, feelings you experience ,to even failures as a mom are a normal part of the journey called “motherhood”. Her book will be the encouragement you will need, along with the encouraging help we learn from Gods word.

I just loved all the encouragement she gives us readers, at any stage we are in with our children.  Whether you have babies, toddlers running through the house, kindergartener , middle schoolers, to teaching our teens to drive. Lysa will share how to manage it all. Practical ways for us mammas to have more energy. How to trust in God with our greatest fears,  how to grow as a mom and a women. She shares with her own personal life, From one busy mom to another, as well as humor and compassion how you can be the best you. I hope you love & enjoy her book as much as I have.
